Alewijn Aidan K. Ong

Assistant General Manager

Business Development Group

Alewijn began his career in government
service in 2013 and served as the Deputy
Administrator for Operations of the
Freeport Area of Bataan. He oversaw 7
divisions involved in business
registration, tax incentives management,
utilities infrastructure, environment
regulation, logistics and trade,
community and labor services. Quite
recently, he moved to the National
Development Company as the Assistant
General Manager (AGM) for Business
Development and is concurrently the
supervising AGM for the Special
Projects Group. Mr. Ong is likewise the Chairperson of the Investment
Committee of the Philippine Startup Venture Fund and Chairperson of the Board
of the LIDE Management Corporation, an NDC affiliate.

Alewijn obtained his degree in Economics from the Ateneo De Manila University
in 1999 and earned his MBA in 2015 from the same institution under the AGSBRegis program. He is currently completing his research work to earn his Doctorate
degree from the School of Urban and Regional Planning of the University of the
Philippines and the Department of Spatial Planning of Technische Universität
Dortmund, Germany.

He was the lead author for a manuscript that won Best Paper in the 2021 Asia
Future Conference held in Taipei, Taiwan. During his free time, Alewijn enjoys
being a numismatic hobbyist and gives back to the community by teaching college
students.
